Son Ye Jin may be making her return to the small screen with the upcoming drama Variety (working title)!

On February 11, reports surfaced that the actress had been offered a role in Variety and was currently considering the opportunity.

In response, her representative cautiously confirmed, “She has received the offer, but she is still reviewing the script.”

A representative from CJ ENM, the production company behind the drama, added, “We have extended an offer to Son Ye Jin, but as the project is still in its early stages, nothing has been finalized. Key details, including the broadcast schedule and additional casting, are yet to be determined.”

Variety is a thriller set within the idol industry, directed by Kim Yong Hoon, best known for the hit Netflix series Mask Girl. The drama is expected to feature both current and former idols, with an idol group being formed specifically for the storyline. Former IZ*ONE member and Squid Game 2 actress Jo Yu Ri is also reportedly in discussions for a lead role.

Son Ye Jin has been offered the role of a strong, intelligent, and outspoken character, drawing comparisons to former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

Meanwhile, the actress is preparing to begin filming Netflix’s upcoming series Scandal (working title), where she will star alongside Ji Chang Wook. She has also recently wrapped up filming Park Chan Wook’s highly anticipated film No Other Choice, in which she stars opposite Lee Byung Hun.
